On Crunchbase you can select which Investors/Investment Funds to track, filter in a vast array of definitions.
Due to the half billion of Praxis, I was looking for things related to it.
Meaning I was searching for the possible web3 infrastructure being picked for the Next Generation of CITIES.
For that, I've been following Balaji and what shenanigan he's been doing!

Pro: This is a "web3 specialized Crunchbase" and this says all. It has Crypto as it's core so you don't need to filter a lot.
Con: This you'll lose the overall picture of the world.

While this might be quite a heavy topic, I read this article and found good educational value in it - especially when evaluating whether a project you're committed to will be able to sustain its competitive advantage against competitors.

The article discusses how traditional concepts of business moats (defensible advantages like network effects or switching costs) apply differently in crypto markets due to the sector's forkability, composability, and token-based acquisition models.

It introduces a framework to evaluate whether a crypto app can resist being forked or outcompeted by token incentives, emphasizing that sustainable advantages in crypto come from:
Constant innovation
Strong brand presence
Great user experience

Identifying Moats in Crypto

Abstract
Last crypto bull run, Bitcoin surged 700% between February 3rd, 2020 ($8,509) and November 8th, 2021 ($69,044).  Meanwhile, Ethereum accrued 4,474% from $106 to $4,850 for the same time period. Given the ETF approval and institutional capital being deployed into few crypto-assets such as Bitcoin & Ethereum, it is believed similar returns could be expected pushing the price of Bitcoin beyond $250,000 per BTC (500%+), while Ethereum could surge to $18,000 (629%+). However, such returns are no longer large enough to convert a $20,000 investment into a $1,000,000+, for this reason, I will be using a grid-bot strategy with leverage to maximize my returns. Note, that this is not financial advice, I’m simply describing one of many of my strategies that I will use to generate life changing money for myself. These strategies are highly risky and could lead to a complete loss of capital. Introduction
Every four years, the crypto industry undergoes massive growth until the market crashes again. If timing follows historical patterns, the next crash may be somewhere after mid 2025. Until then, it is likely that the momentum from Bitcoin & Ethereum ETFs will fuel early growth into the market. While the bull run is underway, there will be large fluctuations, sometimes even up to 30% downturns, and any strategy must be able to resist such quick price collapse. In this article, I will describe one of my strategies that utilize grid-bots to trade on my behalf hundreds of times a day on micro-fluctuations on the price of Bitcoin, Ethereum, and ETHBTC pair. I will utilize leverage up to 20X maximum and ensure a potential 30% collapse will not liquidate my assets. This means, a $20,000 capital investment will be leveraged to trade upward of $200,000, such that if we achieve a return on Bitcoin/Ethereum of about 500% in the next 600 days, we have a chance to generate more than $1,000,000.

You may also refer to my other strategy that I implemented on January 1st, 2024 to also turn $20,000 into $1,000,000 with an aggressive diversified crypto-portfolio which is less likely to be liquidated.

Strategy
Grid-bots are available on most centralized exchanges (CEX - checkout links at the end of this article for referral links to various CEX) and some decentralized exchanges (DEX) such as Helix. Grid-bots configured for a long position essentially trade on your behalf everytime the price of an asset crosses a grid line below the current price, while it sells when the price crosses above a grid line above the current price. Therefore, the bot keeps buying and selling when prices cross these grid lines between a specified price range making profitable pairs of trade. The more sideway fluctuation happening the more profitable pairs of trades are generated and accumulating more capital. Meanwhile, there is a sacrifice to consider here, because the bot will sell too early a portion of the asset when the price is growing very rapidly, it is best used in periods that are not undergoing exponential growth. This sacrifice comes at the benefit of slightly safer trades. I often don’t even use stop loss when I trade with grid bots, because I carefully select the leverage and range to make sure I can sustain significant price corrections.

As of February 17, 2024, here’s a price chart of Bitcoin and my selected range given the current market conditions. Based on technical analysis of the chart and current fundamental analysis of the Bitcoin ETF situation with GBTC sell pressure. I believe a proper range for the next few weeks will be between $37,500 and $57,850. This is also corroborated on the liquidation zone on Coinglass.

The way you can think of a grid bot, is that when the price goes down after you have activated the bot, you are essentially dollar cost averaging (DCA) as the bot buys while on the way down. It’s not the most capital efficient method, but it’s a lot more forgiving when you make mistakes.

As we get closer to a potential market collapse after mid-2025, I will start to significantly reduce leverage down to 0X and exit into USD and other much safer assets such as real world tokenized assets that are recession proof.

I invested the first $3,143.24 out of $20,000 on a grid bot on Bitcoin 3 days ago on February 14. So far, there’s been $195.42 of realized profits (i.e. these profits have been on completed pairs of trades), and $475.14 in total including the non-realized profits which would only become real profits if I would terminate the bot right now. Overall, that’s a 15% growth in 3 days because the range and price momentum was in my favor. For this bot, I used 200 grids between the range $37,500 and $57,850 based on my technical analysis of the chart as well as the liquidation map from Coinglass. I used a 10X leverage and my liquidation price started at about $36,000 but given my current profit, the liquidation price has now moved down to $32,089. There’s been 293 trades so far.

Summary
Once a month, I will publish an updated blog post on the results and discuss if I am on track to achieve my goals. Meanwhile, do not forget to follow me on Twitter (x.com) to get more time-sensitive changes to my trades for any of my investment strategies. While such returns seem out of reach, I have achieved much higher returns in the last crypto bull market, however I had not learned to take enough profits before the market crash even if I knew it was starting to overheat. I strongly advise anyone who follows me to not make this mistake, and make sure to understand that everyone is a genius in a bull market, but taking profits along the way can feel bad until there is a significant collapse at which point you’ll very much appreciate the sacrifice.

Turning $20K of Bitcoin & Ethereum into $1M using Grid-Bots

** Abstract
Identifying high return and low risks crypto investment strategies is difficult, and just like trading strategies on the stock markets, always changing. After 5 years spent in the industry, I believe there is a rotation of capital on a weekly basis, and in some cases daily basis across different narratives and ecosystems. I never attempted to design a strategy to take advantage of this assumption because I didn’t have the right tools to make my analysis easily. However, Banter Bubbles recently added categories for narratives and ecosystems which vastly simplify my analysis. Over the next several weeks to months, I will attempt to design a winning strategy to increase my returns as compared to simply buying crypto assets and holding.

These strategies are highly risky and could lead to a complete loss of capital. As well, I will readjust my strategy along the way to adapt to market conditions and I will describe such time-sensitive changes on x.com/Crypto_Rookies.

** Introduction
The crypto markets are heavily manipulated by large players such as market makers. One strategy often used is to rotate their capital between various ecosystems and narratives so that less organized crypto traders end up chasing the pumps and getting taken advantage of. Identifying the next narrative of the ecosystem that will experience a weekly pump is nearly impossible to achieve as they may be selected at random. However, here I will describe a potential strategy that I am considering to attempt to financially benefit from these short term rotations.

Note that this is an experimental unproven strategy really meant to think outside the box, and back testing could prove that it is simply impossible to achieve decent returns compared to baseline. Therefore, this article is meant as an educational eye opening piece not as financial advice.

** Strategy
If there is indeed a rotation of capital by large capital holders such as market makers, then can we take advantage of it and front-run the capital rotation? I would argue it would be ill-advised to chase the pumps, and instead we should buy crypto assets that are behaving in strength while their base narrative is significantly undervalued. For example, as you can see on the graph above, this weekend there was a massive pump on Yield Farming of 191% in comparison to Bitcoin (I have set my baseline currency as Bitcoin instead of USD). However, when you look more deeply into this narrative you can see that only a specific crypto asset grew massively TOR. Given that this is a very low market cap crypto currency, I would exclude it from my analysis.

The point here is that I believe we can identify tokens that are the strongest when a given narrative is pumping, however we would not attempt to buy it when the narrative benefitted from a pump, we would simply keep track of these strong assets over time, and assess whether or not they crash less than other assets when the narrative is in decline. I believe at that point, it may be the right time to buy these assets when the narrative has significantly decreased preemptively to the next time the narrative will experience extreme growth, at which point it is possible the assets that are in strength within that narrative will outperform the rest. Typically speaking, if a given crypto asset benefits from strong news, it tends to increase the value of other similar assets in that category. For example, we know the gaming & metaverse narratives have been significantly down in the last few weeks/months, however Apple Pro Vision (an anticipated VR headset) is expected to launch on February 2, 2024, which could lead to the gaming and metaverse narrative to experience significant growth, and the specific crypto assets that are in strength within these categories are likely to give the best returns until they become overvalued again, and the narrative get suppressed again.

Regardless of the cause and effect for narrative pump, I believe most narrative will experience cyclical growth period, and if we buy into them while they are undervalued and suppressed, than we can cash in some great gains, and instead of chasing the pumps, we can chase the undervalued narrative that will eventually come back.

Out of the dozen or so narratives, we are likely to miss some narrative pump, but if we remain patient, I believe their time will come.

** Conclusion
At this point in time, I’m only starting my analysis and back testing of narrative based investing, I don’t know yet if the returns will be better or not than my other investment strategies. I would be happy to hear from anyone who has attempted to take advantage of such a strategy and what the results were. Too often, I see crypto traders attempting to chase the pump and getting in too late, and it is my opinion that buying underperforming assets is not always the right solution either, as most crypto currencies are doomed to fail in the long run.

** Abstract
Identifying high return and low risks crypto investment strategies is difficult, and just like trading strategies on the stock markets, always changing. After 5 years spent in the industry, I believe there is a rotation of capital on a weekly basis, and in some cases daily basis across different narratives and ecosystems. I never attempted to design a strategy to take advantage of this assumption because I didn’t have the right tools to make my analysis easily. However, Banter Bubbles recently added categories for narratives and ecosystems which vastly simplify my analysis. Over the next several weeks to months, I will attempt to design a winning strategy to increase my returns as compared to simply buying crypto assets and holding. 

These strategies are highly risky and could lead to a complete loss of capital. As well, I will readjust my strategy along the way to adapt to market conditions and I will describe such time-sensitive changes on x.com/Crypto_Rookies.

** Introduction
The crypto markets are heavily manipulated by large players such as market makers. One strategy often used is to rotate their capital between various ecosystems and narratives so that less organized crypto traders end up chasing the pumps and getting taken advantage of. Identifying the next narrative of the ecosystem that will experience a weekly pump is nearly impossible to achieve as they may be selected at random. However, here I will describe a potential strategy that I am considering to attempt to financially benefit from these short term rotations.

Note that this is an experimental unproven strategy really meant to think outside the box, and back testing could prove that it is simply impossible to achieve decent returns compared to baseline. Therefore, this article is meant as an educational eye opening piece not as financial advice.

** Strategy
If there is indeed a rotation of capital by large capital holders such as market makers, then can we take advantage of it and front-run the capital rotation? I would argue it would be ill-advised to chase the pumps, and instead we should buy crypto assets that are behaving in strength while their base narrative is significantly undervalued. Don't be fooled by a large number of followers. Many agencies and promoters offer fake or inactive follower boosts to inflate statistics. So, how do you check the authenticity of a community?

 1. Follower Growth Dynamics.
A useful tool for examining follower growth is the Social Blade service. A genuine community will exhibit consistent growth in followers with periodic spikes, coinciding with increased Twitter activity. (Image 1)

When there is a scarcity of tweets coupled with exponential growth in followers and a significant drop-off in engagement, it is a clear indicator of possible fake manipulation.

2. The Follower-to-View Ratio
