This is not a negative review of DeBank's product. I think the concept is forward-thinking, and the UI is smooth and frictionless. Overall, the product quality itself stands head and shoulders above the rest. But the one thing it lacks is any hype or momentum, and the SoFi component is not good. DeBank has been around for awhile (I created my account in March 2022), starting as a simple portfolio tracker with a profile and ability to follow others. Nothing special.

Then, earlier this year, they made the very first attempts, god bless 'em, at merging DeFi with Social Media and lowkey inventing SoFi before friend.tech and the rest of the twitter forks pushed the concept in a different direction, but with products more familiar formwise. It was exciting, at first.

I found DeBank's social media UX at odds with its portfolio UI--clunky, inexplicably hard to navigate (but it looks great!), and a whole bunch of rules about how many posts you get to send in a day, how much it costs to send it, how much it costs for someone to send a message to you. Not to mention the feed, full of anons and numbers, looks more like a CoinMarketCap comment section than a place to socialize. So far, I have earned $1 for messages sent to me.

Maybe it's time they do an airdrop!

Their combination of diverse ages, backgrounds, and experience levels leads me to award them 5 stars, as it appears they have effectively covered all bases.

DeBank was co-founded by the Chinese software engineer Hongbo Tang and his partner Xu Yong. The company is headquartered in Shanghai, China, and currently boasts a workforce of approximately 11-50 employees, with key leadership positions held by CTO Guo Haochuan and COO Wang Chen.

Excellent project with great utility, and better features than any competing products in both the portfolio tracking segment and the browser extension wallet segment (Rabby replaces Metamask almost entirely).

Upcoming L2 network launch should be interesting, with added social networking features. Bridging still seems too expensive, which is something they need to sort out before L2 main net.

Over the years I've seen many platforms promise to be the "one-stop solution" for DeFi tracking, but DeBank truly delivers. Its intuitive UI allows you to manage over 800 DeFi protocols across multiple blockchains with ease. It really is a game-changer!

Security is a double-edged sword in the DeFi world. DeBank employs state-of-the-art security measures, however the platform could further instill user confidence by undergoing more frequent security audits, something I've seen far too many of over my storied career.  =)

Financial backing is often an overlooked aspect when evaluating DeFi platforms. DeBank has secured over $25M in funding from reputable sources like Coinbase Ventures1, which is no guarantee but does give me further confidence.

In conclusion, DeBank is a powerful tool that has significantly simplified DeFi asset management. Its user-friendly interface and robust security measures make it a standout platform, although there's always room for improvement in the security audit department.

I appreciate the way DeBank is currently evolving. They have an activity called "Web3 Badge," where users are required to complete specific tasks and, in return, they can mint NFTs as rewards. For example, "Rabby Valued User" tasks users with downloading Rabby Wallen and then minting an NFT. This activity has gained significant popularity, with many people eagerly anticipating the potential DeBank Airdrop.

Furthermore, DeBank has gained recognition from numerous YouTubers and crypto Twitter users as a valuable tool, and I wholeheartedly agree. Additionally, DeBank has launched its Testnet, which has motivated many users to develop their accounts in anticipation of a potential Airdrop. This initiative has undoubtedly attracted a substantial number of new users. They are planning to launch on the mainnet in 2024, so let's eagerly await that and see what it has in store. To be honest, I don't have very high expectations because DeBank is already an outstanding app for daily use.

To be honest, I really like this project and how it is developing right now. It helps me a lot on a daily basis. For example, you can easily check a wallet to understand which protocol it uses for investment and on which chains. DeBank is an awesome app for analysis due to its user-friendly interface.

The way I typically use it is as follows: I come across wallets that catch my attention during protocol analysis. Then, I copy the wallet address and paste it into DeBank to understand how much money it holds and how it is being managed. This information is invaluable for grasping the popularity of various pools. Furthermore, DeBank displays rewards from these wallets, which is a truly unique feature. Additionally, I can review previous transactions from these wallets more conveniently than on platforms like Etherscan.

In summary, I believe that DeBank is a fantastic app that you should definitely keep an eye on and use for your Due Diligence (DYOR)

In my view, DeBank addresses a significant industry challenge: portfolio monitoring.

For those unfamiliar, DeBank stands as one of the most prominent tools for tracking asset balances across various blockchain networks. It also excels in monitoring productive asset positions, such as those in LP, lending, or strategy vaults.

However, I've given it a four-star instead of five because, despite its extensive coverage (including new protocols and chains), it falls short in depth. Specifically, in the realm of portfolio monitoring, DeBank lacks the ability to track historical P&L data. This means that the monitoring process isn't entirely automated, requiring serious investors to periodically record their position balances to calculate performances.

On the other hand, DeBank appears to be also exploring other areas that are generating buzz in the industry. Their Rabby wallet stands out as arguably one of the best EVM wallets available, boasting comprehensive functionalities. Additionally, their newly announced L2 DeBank Chain introduces a venture to enhance their DeBank Hi messaging feature. It will be interesting to see how the company and its product offerings evolve in the future.

DeBank addresses a significant issue: the challenge of tracking your portfolio. In my opinion, they provide a user-friendly solution as a portfolio tracker.

Moreover, DeBank offers its own wallet called Rabby. After examining it, I found Rabby to be both user-friendly and ensuring a high level of safety and security as it operates on the Ethereum blockchain and they do not have access to your wallet's funds or permissions.

But what exactly does DeBank do? Their primary function is to extract data from your wallet. There's no need to authorize any transactions. Although occasional warnings may pop up, these could potentially be associated with fake websites.

You might wonder why I've given it a 4-star rating. The reason is that DeBank serves primarily as a dashboard for monitoring your DeFi portfolio, and there are similar platforms available. At present, it doesn't have its own token that offers advantages like staking or other forms of rewards. However, it does tick most of the other boxes, earning it a solid and commendable rating.

Debank is a multifunctional all-in-one platform that started as an asset management platform in the world of DeFi. Debank allows users to track their assets across thousands of protocols and 64 different blockchains. Over the course of five years since its establishment in 2018, Debank has made significant advancements and developed high-quality products. The project later (28 April 2023) introduced 'DeBank Stream', a social feed that awards points every time a user makes a contribution to the platform. On DeBank Stream, every post you publish or read and every comment and repost are calculated as value contributions and credited to you in points, with tokens coming in the future (right now rewards are issued in stablecoins and DeBank points). By connecting to the platform via a wallet, the platform can verify you as a user of Web3 and connect you with other verified users who are signed up to the app.

Most recently (11 August 2023), DeBank introduced 'DeBank Chain,' a new layer-2 blockchain built on Optimism’s OP Stack, making it the latest entrant into the Ethereum L2 rollup space. It has launched the testnet of its layer-2 network with plans to roll out the mainnet in 2024. The project states that the main concerns it wants to address are: "minimizing gas costs, offering a native Account-Abstraction-like experience, and ensuring the safety of L1 assets".

As of now, the testnet (explorer.testnet.debank.com) can be accessed via the Rabby wallet (rabby.io) using a built-in gas faucet. Of course many people are now anticipating an airdrop so are flocking to try out the testnet.

I think this project could really contribute positively to the narrative of social engagement, which could be really big in the next bull run. It's also great to see the project expanding in a number of different directions, setting DeBank apart from its competitors. I am very interested to see what happens with this project in the near future and once the token is launched.
