zkSync is an open source project that is being developed by parent company Matter Labs. Matter Labs specializes in making crypto payments cheaper and to scale smart contracts within the sector.

The Zksync supported and backed by some hugely experienced and renowned industry companies and ventures such as Curve, Coinbase, Binance, a16z, Placeholder, Dragonfly Capital, BitDAO, Ethereum Foundation and Alchemy Ventures to name a fair few. Not a bad all star of capital to have alongside you when building a project.

In terms of Matter Labs themselves here are some of the key members to their team:

Alex Gluchowski – CEO

He has a strong background in software development and technology leadership. Prior to his university studies, he held various software development roles and later served as the CTO at ExpoGlobus. Gluchowski co-founded two other entities - Somuchmore & PaulCamper. He also worked as the Director of Research and Development at Entropy Labs. His experience in software development, technology leadership, and co-founding ventures have equipped him with the skills and knowledge to lead Matter Labs in their mission.

Zoé Gadsden – COO

The most impressive feather in her cap to point out is her prior role with Google for Startups, where she developed programs specifically designed to assist underrepresented founders, connecting them with the right people, products, and best practices to help their startup grow. Zoé's experience makes her a valuable asset in driving the mission of Matter Labs and she also has a lot of valuable contacts being a founding member of Female Narratives and serving as an advisor and former Head of New Ventures at TOA, Europe's largest interdisciplinary technology festival and community.
