Zilliqa has made significant progress in developing and building out its blockchain platform since its launch in 2018. Here are some of the key developments and milestones achieved to date by the Zilliqa team:

  • Zilliqa launched its mainnet in January 2019, the mainnet enabled developers to deploy smart contracts and build decentralized applications on the platform thus finally bringing Ziliqa to life.
  • The successful implementation of sharding technology, one of its unique features, enables the platform to process a high number of transactions per second (~ 2,400 TPS in testnet environments and over 800 TPS in mainnet environments).
  • Created many valuable partnerships and has done several collaborations with other industry players, including payment processors, decentralized exchanges, and academic institutions since its launch.
  • The development of its own platform decentralized applications such as Zilswap, Lunrcrush, XCAD and its own wallet ZilPay to name a few (view the whole Ziliqa ecosystem with the following link https://www.zilliqa.com/ecosystem). It has also launched several initiatives to support their ecosystem development such as the ZILHive program and the Zillacracy.
  • The implementation of a staking mechanism for its native ZIL token, which allows users to earn rewards for securing the network as well as implementing a governance system that enables ZIL holders to vote on proposals and changes to the platform.
  • Created their own immersive and gamified metaverse called, Metapolis. It was the first layer 1 protocol to do so.

Overall, Zilliqa has made impressive progress in developing its blockchain platform and building a complete ecosystem of dapps and partners. However, all this progress will be for nothing if the project can’t drive users to adopt the technology and apply it real-world use cases. This will ultimately be key indicator of the project’s success in the long term. Show Less
