Having investigated the community surrounding Truebit, I feel like they can do with some major improvements. They might do well on informing those who already know about the project but I am not convinced they are raising the level of understanding and/or engagement of the project to a wider audience, .

  1. They have no official TG groups. However, there are three fake TG accounts, two of which are called 'Truebit Airdrop' that have over 100 members each in them.

  2. There is no Discord that I can find. While this isn't always necessary, it does provide another outlet to reach out to the community and engage investors/devs.

  3. They use Gitter for messages, which requires users to create an account and login. One user (screenshot) states "I don't think a closed environment helps this project. It's a very unfortunate part." I wholeheartedly agree.

  4. They have a relatively healthy following on Twitter (over 35k followers) but the majority of the tweets are of a more technical nature. The latest tweet on 3 May 2023 about the founder of Truebit acting as a panel member at the GOTO Conference in Chicago has 202 likes, 69 retweets and 15K views.

  5. There's a Facebook group with over 900 followers. The posts here also seem mainly geared towards developers.

I get a sense that the Truebit community is very much an insider club. With no open, external group for people to join and ask questions about the project and with most of the social media posts seemingly geared towards a more tech audience, Truebit seems content to keep the project only to those already in the know.
