Check out my full "idea" review. Here's a short summary.
Of all the stablecoins out there, I use Tether the most, but that's just because of a lack of better alternatives.
Most risks are associated with the US dollar itself, not directly to Tether:
- US dollar suffer inflation every year, so since USD is a shitcoin, then Tether is a shitcoin.
- There is a growing coalition of countries currently working on diminishing the use of US currency as international trade settlement.
- The USD strength is directly proportional to the strength of the US government. Is there a massive brain drain out of the US?
- CBDC and FedNow: the US government may not want to allow external organization control US currency. USDT could be destroyed (depegged) as soon as July 2023 as there is a bill about to be submitted in regards to stablecoin. Show Less
