Got into STEEM about 5 years back. And though it seems like they have made some progress, it's far from what it could've been.
Honestly, the problem back then was that voting power was controlled by an elite group who had STEEM by the truckloads and others buying or renting voting power to upvote posts from their own people, before then withdrawing the tokens resulting from the upvoting with rented voting power to sell.
I truly think that was the one thing that killed what could've been the web3 version of social media. Great idea, probably a good example of what can be done and an amazing job of being a first mover. Perhaps one day someone will come on over and bring this project to where it could've been. Show Less
