I'm a gamer so I love to see new gaming projects coming into the space. I tend to keep my eye on some of the more complex games like Star Atlas or Oxya Origin that are using really high tech graphics and sound to recreate worlds and experiences. However, I recognise the value of some of the more stripped back games that offer fun gameplay and a competitive nature.
Space Mavericks, a real-time multiplayer game, falls into the latter category and describes itself as: "a game that mixes artillery games like Worms and Angry Birds with MOBAs like League of Legends or Dota." I've given it two stars for now because I've seen so many games like this and am struggling to see what would set this one apart from so many others.
Also, it is created by a games studio, FireGecko, and while that isn't a problem per se, without a dedicated team behind them that includes an in-house dev team, I worry that as more games are created in the studio, the more neglected this game could become. Show Less
