Most crypto entrepreneurs love to boast about how their blockchain or app will bring digital assets to the mainstream. However, many projects still suffer from a lack of usability, which has hindered adoption for over a decade.
Only 0.4% of crypto users claimed their domain with Unstoppable Domains, not due to lack of demand but poor user experience and privacy concerns. Polls show that consumers hesitate to try crypto due to frequent hacks, high transaction fees, and confusing jargon.
Usability is another major hurdle. Crypto addresses are long alphanumeric strings prone to errors, and if mistakes occur, funds can be lost forever. Human-readable names could simplify transactions, improve security, and drive wider adoption.
However, even with improvements like account abstraction, challenges like blockchain fragmentation and security vulnerabilities persist. For crypto to reach mass adoption, developers need to focus on creating a user-friendly experience from the perspective of beginners. Only then will their claims of onboarding the next billion users be credible.
