When it comes to blockchain based file storage, I consider Filecoin to be the leading product in terms of its features - storage capacity, security, and scalability. It provides an attractive option for hosting files and earning Filecoin ($FIL) through its decentralized network, something I myself would use being a crypto advocate and blockchain nerd. However, despite its advantages over other blockchain competitors, I am hesitant to include Filecoin as an active investment in my portfolio for a few reasons.

Firstly, I don’t see the majority of the globe flocking over to use the decentralised world to store their files any time soon. Secondly, centralized alternatives currently offer better performance and are often available for free.

I know price is 98% down and they do have a very capable team which is important but you always got to be aware it could still fall another 98% from where it is now.

I think Filecoin have the right concept but it is a case of right idea but wrong time for it on a mass scale, therefore I am currently hesitant to include it as an active investment in my portfolio. Show Less
