South Korea, previously under scrutiny for suspicious cryptocurrency transactions linked to a parliament member, is once again in the spotlight due to the cryptocurrency holdings of several lawmakers.
According to a report by the local news outlet Korea News 1, the cryptocurrency assets of Korean politicians have been made public.
Notably, Park Soo-min, a member of the 22nd first-term National Assembly from the People’s Power Party, holds the most valuable virtual asset among his peers—a Hunminjeongeum Haeryebon NFT valued at 100 million won.
Lee Jun-seok from the Reform Party disclosed ownership of a total of 45 different types of virtual assets, making him the lawmaker with the largest reported portfolio.
Jeong Jin-wook of the Democratic Party of Korea reported that his wife and eldest son jointly own virtual assets worth 20,147,000 won.
Park Hee-seung, also of the Democratic Party, revealed that his eldest son holds virtual assets totaling $16,965,000, including Bitcoin (BTC), Ripple (XRP), and Paycoin.
Finally, Democratic Party member Mo Kyung-jong reported owning 400 Dogecoin (DOGE) valued at 2,061,000 won.
