Bittensor Halts Network

The Bittensor Network ($TAO) has halted its network after reports of security attacks on wallets, first identified by ZachXBT.

The team on Discord has stated that transactions have been paused in order to allow the team to investigate further. Bittensor’s block explorer shows that the last block was confirmed about three hours ago.

According to ZachXBT, $8 million worth of TAO — approximately 32,000 native Bittensor (TAO) tokens — was stolen today, purportedly attributed to “an unusual attack that may be linked to private key leakage.”

The TAO Foundation has yet to provide a detailed statement on the thefts as the investigation unfolds.

At the time of this writing, $TAO is down -14.77% in the last 24hrs amidst an across the board market downturn.
