In terms of progress, I feel that Algorand is on the right track to making steady improvements to its project.
The Algorand community has been discussing the proposal of a new metadata top-level field that would allow creators to define filterable custom attributes for their NFTs. Currently, creators can add metadata to their NFTs to provide additional information such as a description or an image. However, these metadata fields are not filterable, meaning that users can only search for NFTs based on their traits. The proposed solution is to add a new metadata top-level field called "filters." This field would allow creators to define custom attributes that are filterable, but that would not impact the NFT's ranking. By standardizing the format of filterable attributes, frontends would be able to provide filtering support on these attributes, making it easier for users to discover NFTs that match their preferences. This change is backward compatible, meaning that it would not affect existing NFTs that do not use the new "filters" field.
Overall, I personally believe the addition of the "filters" field would greatly enhance the user experience of browsing and discovering NFTs. I'm definitely excited to see this proposal move forward!
