Buterin outlines next steps for Ethereum's proof-of-stake evolution

Vitalik Buterin has unveiled plans to enhance Ethereum's proof-of-stake model, focusing on single-slot finality, staking accessibility, and increasing validator participation. He aims to reduce block finalization time from 15 minutes to as low as 12 or 4 seconds, improving the network’s efficiency. To democratize staking, Buterin suggests lowering the 32 ETH requirement to 1 ETH, allowing more solo stakers.

He also proposes using ZK-SNARKs for large-scale signature aggregation and "orbit committees" for enhanced validator participation. A two-tiered staking system is another idea to broaden access while maintaining security. Show Less
