Fantom, launched in 2018, has faced challenges such as declining TVL and user activity. However, its upcoming Sonic upgrade, set to launch in December 2024, promises to revitalize the network by boosting transaction speed, scalability, and decentralization. Sonic aims to replace Fantom’s current Opera blockchain, offering near-instant transactions and attracting developers from other ecosystems.
Sonic’s key features include faster transaction speeds (up to 2,000 TPS), a decentralized bridge with Ethereum, and incentives for developers, such as gas monetization. Fantom also introduced USDC.e in collaboration with Circle and Wormhole, enhancing the ecosystem’s security and boosting its DeFi ecosystem. New innovations, like a decentralized credit scoring system and protection markets, aim to differentiate Fantom in the market.
I think we can still see nice performance from Fantom with the upcoming Sonic update driving growth. Show Less
