The Bull Run is very close, which means the scammers are doing their scammy things more and more and trying to fool you everywhere they can. The latest mass scam that I know of was with OpenAI's X account.:
OpenAI's official press account on X was compromised by cryptocurrency scammers, who previously targeted company leadership accounts.
The scammers posted about a non-existent OpenAI-branded blockchain token called "$OPENAI" and linked to a phishing site that mimicked the OpenAI website.
The fake site encouraged users to connect their cryptocurrency wallets, likely to steal their login credentials.
This incident follows similar hacks of OpenAI-affiliated accounts in June 2023 and earlier this year, promoting the same fake $OPENAI token.
Crypto scams have been prevalent, with Americans losing $5.6 billion in 2023 and over $2.5 billion in the first half of 2024. Show Less
